We offer independent assurance services, including organisational greenhouse gas (carbon) inventory measurement and reporting following the ISO 14064-1 and GHG Protocol standards. We have experience in providing assurance to central and local government, large organisations, as well as small and medium-sized businesses. We are a New Zealand Carbon Neutral Government Programme Supplier.

Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards

We offer assurance services to Climate Reporting Entities (CREs) under the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards (NZ CS 1, NZ CS 2 and NZ CS 3) as part of the disclosure requirements.

We have extensive experience in the assurance of Scope 3 emissions including financed emissions.

Product, Event and Services Greenhouse Gas/Carbon Audits

We assure the carbon footprint of your product, event or service, enabling you to report your verified carbon footprint to your customers, suppliers and wider supply chain.

We conduct the Eco Choice Aotearoa Ecolabel (formerly Environmental Choice) assessments via the NZ Ecolabelling Trust.

Community (City) Greenhouse Gas/Carbon Inventory Audits

We provide independent assurance on community (city) carbon inventories following the GHG Protocol for Community-Scale Greenhouse Gas Inventories.

It follows a global, standardised framework to enable cities to measure and ultimately reduce their carbon emissions.

Airport Carbon Accreditation

We conduct ACA accredited verification (Levels 1-5) for the only global carbon management programme for airports. Airport Carbon Accreditation offers participating airports a robust standard to achieve a certification to show their carbon reduction efforts and commitment to sustainability.

Ekos Certification Programme Assurance

Ekos, an established carbon management provider, recognises our audits and we provide assurance for their organisational, event, product and Sustainable Development Units (SDU) clients.

Environmental Assurance

Our technical experts are able to provide environmental impact validation and verification, design internal audit programmes as well as external audit and certification programmes, conduct product stewardship assessments, and serve as independent reviewers.

Our monthly subscription service to keep you up to date on current consultations from Regional Councils, Central Government and Commissions, and Voluntary Standards. It is designed for environmental consultants, engineers, anyone with environmental responsibilities within an organisation, and industry bodies.

At McHugh & Shaw we can evaluate your legal compliances (due diligence and ISO 14001). We also provide sub-contract assessment services for environmental management audits (such as e.g. ISO 14001 to Conformity Bodies).
